Volunteer Program

March 9, 2022 – We are currently looking for board members for the following areas: medical, legal, financial, tribal, residents of Luce and Mackinac Counties.  Meetings can be attended online.  Potential members can contact Betsy Huggett at director@dprcenter.org for more information or for an application.

The Volunteer Program of the Diane Peppler Resource Center has been, since the beginning, an integral part of the agency. We never would have grown so much or helped so many, without the daily support and kindness of our volunteers. Volunteers help  provide 24-hour coverage of our crisis phone, as well as our shelter.

Volunteers help to provide many other services that support our organization. They help organize events, man the booths and donate their time so that victims of assault and domestic violence have a chance to become survivors.

Some of the ways you can help:

  • Events in the community (including fundraisers, awareness events, shelter events for clients, booths at community resource fairs, food distributions, hanging flyers or handing out pamphlets, etc)
  • Shelter Coverage
  • Crisis line coverage
  • Shelter maintenance and cleaning
  • Childcare for mom’s in shelter during work, appointments or group

If you would like to be a volunteer for the Diane Peppler Resource Center, please call us today! There is always room for one more set of hands and heart, and many services that we need your help with. You can find out more and download our Volunteer Applications here.
